      The Upper East Side is a bit cheaper then the West Side. It also feels less stuck up and pretentious. There are more elderly folks on the Eastside, and the Westside is assuredly a bit more happening. Neither nabe is particularly cutting edge culturally, more like where well established older folks go to bleed their money away.

      The cost of housing in the Upper East side is slightly lower than the Upper West.

      However, the Upper West side has more restaurants. 

      The Upper West Side also has more subway lines. Unfortunately, the Upper East Side only has one subway line: the 4/5/6.       "
