      another great option up there is the bar called The Dead Poet. 450 Amsterdam Ave (between 81st St & 82nd St) great beer selection and a little outdoor seating area.

      Check out the place called the Boat Basin Cafe (W 79th St at Riverside Dr) right along the river. Huge space and perfect for day drinking.
