I'd put a vote in for Bareburger as the best burger in the east village. Partnering with local artisans and sustainable farmers, Bareburger has put an emphasis on quality, using organic, all natural, free-range, grass-fed meats. Tons of burger options, including lamb, wild boar, elk, organic bison and even ostrich, and you can top your burger with a variety of buns, including brioche, a multi-grain roll, iceberg lettuce wrap, or tapioca rice bun. And the toppings, like apple smoked onions, bourbon sauteed mushrooms, a variety of cheeses and cilantro lime dressing.

Ever tried a Burger with Cheese on the inside?! Whitman's has the best burger in the east village! Modeled after the burger pioneered in Minneapolis, Whitman's best burger is their "Juicy Lucy," featuring two thin beef patties pinched together around a scoop of pimento cheddar cheese. One bite, and you'll understand why this is one of the best burgers in the East Village. Whitman's burgers are made with a special beef short rib blend using locally sourced ingredients. 406 E. 9th St., bet. Avenue A and 1st Ave.

I recently hears about this place and thought it sounded really interesting! An Asian Fusion burger? yes! A new place with the interesting name The Toucan & The Lion. 342 E 6th St (between 1st Ave & 2nd Ave) It'a a gastropub, or maybe an Astropub? (Asian/Pub) The burger is a LaFrieda patty topped with bacon and cashew butter, served on a toasted Chinatown bao bun. Oh, and it comes with a side of fried pickle spears, too. The Toucan & The Lion is a sliver of an East Village restaurant where the drinks, decor and comfort food are prepared with a touch of Zen (and/or sriracha) It’s probably for the best if you go ahead and treat this as a date spot. For one, it’s sleek, modern and full of hanging terrariums. For another, it’s only big enough to fit a few stark white two-tops. For another another, you’re not going to want to split the fall-off-the-bone, espresso-glazed pork ribs more than one way. best burger east village...
