Charlestown Boston is the neighborhood of Boston nobody seems to ever go to except those who live there. Not that it's a really awful area--in fact it's been somewhat gentrified over the last 20-30 years and there are some very nice areas that look like Beacon Hill. It has a history of Irish mob, skinheads, and basically rowdy, drunk white kids. Charlestown is largely responsible, with South Boston, for that Dropkick Murphys look Boston is sometimes known for. "

Boston's Charlestown is kind of an isolated area...but the area if really quaint and totally old boston. if you have a bike you can easily make it into boston (or walk a little way to the orange line T). getting to cambridge from there is a bit tough. "
