      • The People's Republic of Cambridge?

I heard this term recently, what does it mean?  True that people from Cambridge rarely leave that area?

It's the people's republic because of it's extreme liberal views (verging on socialist). we don't really follow any one else's rules and don't quite believe that we are associated with backward US policies. It is also the name of a great bar in Central Square in Cambridge (People's Republik).

We don't often leave Cambridge because we like supporting our local businesses.

You're right it does mean that the people of Cambridge never do really leave the area.  Why would you want to though? It is way cooler over there.  Much more laid back than the other side of the river for sure.  Some decent schools too I've heard
