      Publick House has a formidable beer list which no bars in Brookline touch. In the vicinity, Washington Square Tavern is also nice and a better place to eat. I haven't been to Matt Murphy's in Brookline Village in a few years but that was always a standout. "

      there's also the Publick House's sister bar, American Craft, up the street.  It's a good place to go if the Publick House is crowded. Good beer selection and great food for bars in brookline.

      Matt Murphy's, on Harvard St. in Brookline Village, does not have as many beer options as Publick House or Sunset Grill, but does have 10-15 excellent/ecletic beers on tap.  Also for the bars in Brookline it has a tasty menu of Irish food (fish and chips) "
